Our story

Eight years later,
in Bodrum

From high school prom to standing on the Aegean coast to make it official, with the people we love the most. Thank you for being part of our story for the last 8 years, for your blessings, for your warmth.

You've watched us grow up together. Now come watch us begin the next chapter, somewhere worthy of the occasion.

"Join us in Bodrum, The METT, for the occasion."

The venue

The METT
Bodrum

The METT Hotel & Beach Resort sits in its own private cove just outside Bodrum town, contemporary Aegean architecture in local stone and light wood, a private sandy beach, and terraces looking across the water toward the floodlit Bodrum Castle.

The celebration centres on Attiko, the resort's rooftop terrace above the bay, ceremony at 5:00 as the light turns gold, then dinner, dancing and a party that carries into the night.

Travel

Getting to Bodrum

The nearest airport is Milas–Bodrum (BJV), about 45 minutes from the resort. One thing to know: by mid-October the seasonal direct flights into Bodrum have finished, so everyone connects through Türkiye. It is easy, and you have three good ways in.

The classic route

Via Istanbul

Land in Istanbul, at Istanbul Airport (IST) or Sabiha Gökçen (SAW), then take a short connecting flight down to Milas–Bodrum Airport (BJV), about 1 hour 20 in the air. Flights run many times a day from both Istanbul airports until late evening, and connections of around two hours work comfortably on a single ticket.

Arriving late at night? Stay over and fly down in the morning. Or better: give yourself a day or two in Istanbul first and make a proper trip of it.

The scenic route

Via Izmir

Land in Izmir at Adnan Menderes Airport (ADB), a large and well connected Aegean gateway, then drive about 2.5 to 3.5 hours down the coast to Bodrum. The road passes Ephesus and Kuşadası, so it doubles as a sightseeing day if you leave early.

The adventure

The road trip

For the adventurous: land in Istanbul and drive, roughly 700 km and around seven hours on good highways. A full day on the road through western Anatolia, best with a stop or two along the way.

Two tips. Book your whole journey to Bodrum on a single ticket where you can, so your bags check through and a delay is the airline's problem, not yours. And note Istanbul has two airports on opposite sides of the city, Istanbul Airport (IST) and Sabiha Gökçen (SAW), so keep your connection within one airport.

Visas & passports

Visa rules follow your passport, not where you live. Here is where each passport on our guest list stands. Rules do change, so please confirm yours on the official portals before booking: evisa.gov.tr and mfa.gov.tr.

Stay

Where to sleep

Two good options, depending on how you like to travel.

Option one

Stay with us at The METT

The ceremony, the dinner and the party all happen here, so staying on site means falling out of bed and into the celebration. It is a boutique resort with its own beach and pools, ten minutes from Bodrum town.

Book directly with the hotel here.

Option two

Rent your own place

Bodrum has excellent Airbnbs, from apartments near the marina to villas with pools, and mid-October is quiet season, so availability is good and rates drop. Anywhere in or around Bodrum town puts you within about ten minutes of the venue.

Groups and families often find a shared villa is the best way to do the weekend.

Good to know

Questions, answered

What will the weather be like?

Mid-October in Bodrum averages around 23°C in the day with the sea still about 22°C, warm enough to swim. Evenings drop to 15–17°C, so bring a layer.

What currency should I bring?

The Turkish lira. Cards work almost everywhere; keep a little cash for taxis and small shops. Withdraw from ATMs in town rather than exchanging at the airport, where rates are worst.

Do I need a power adapter?

Türkiye uses the European two-pin plug (Type C/F, 230V). Guests from the UAE and Lebanon need an adapter; US guests need an adapter too, nearly all modern chargers handle 230V without a converter.

Can I bring my children?

Yes! Children are welcome.
